Rafat Mohamed Abdel Atif says "  Reis Rafat  »Worked with B. Midant Reynes and N. Buchez on the Kom el Khigan missions which began in 2005 in Dakahlia. He has been leading the team of workers at the Tell el-Iswid excavation since its beginnings in 2007. Reis Rafat is also responsible for monitoring the team of ceramic washers and sifters who work at the excavation house. He became the official site custodian for the French Institute of Oriental Archeology in 2016.

Reis Rafat lives in the city of Samara, where a large part of his team is from. The workers have been working with us for about ten years now. The first generation is training the youngest for the next generation.
